The Blues Trio is a conversation carried through breath, memory, and rhythm.
The saxophone opens the composition, bending the blues into something smoky, restless, and alive. At the center, the lady gathers that emotion into her body and gives it a voice. The trumpet completes the trio with a piercing final cry—a sound pulled from somewhere deeper than language.
The three figures belong to Everflow’s Archetypes Collection, yet they emerged through what he calls the Rhythmic Process: a rapid, instinctive method of allowing movement, emotion, and sound to guide the hand. Rather than carefully constructing each figure, Everflow worked through quick, percussive gestures—scratching, dripping, drawing, and striking the surface as though each mark were a note inside a live improvisation.
The paintings feel less created than performed. Broken lines, layered textures, and spontaneous movements of color travel across the canvases like musicians responding to one another. Every gesture carries the energy of the moment while remaining connected to the larger rhythm of the trio.
Everflow’s history as a frontman,mult-instrumentalist , writer, producer, and performer lives beneath the work. He understands music not only as sound, but as energy moving through the human body. Here, that invisible energy becomes visible. These are not traditional portraits of three musicians; they are archetypal vessels through which longing, survival, sorrow, and beauty are allowed to move.
Weathered blues, earthen browns, rusted reds, and flashes of gold create the atmosphere of music carried across generations. Each performer possesses an individual presence, yet the complete story can only be heard when all three remain together.
