Elephant Soul

The Origin
Elephant Soul was born in a crucible of transformation. In 2012, after years of pursuing a music career in Los Angeles—the City of Lost Angels—I found myself spiraling downward. For the first time in decades, I reached out to my father in Findlay, Ohio, a man I had been estranged from since childhood because of his harsh words and unresolved pain. Though our past was fractured, he welcomed me home, and in his old 1900s brick building I began the slow process of healing, detoxing, and rediscovering myself.
I transformed the wrecked upstairs loft—19-foot ceilings, exposed brick, vast open rooms—into a sanctuary for creation. There, on raw canvas stretched by my own hands, I painted my soul back together. Elephant Soul was one of the first breakthroughs, a self-portrait of my torso in symbolic form. In its lines, colors, and presence, I discovered the image of an elephant—an ancient archetype of courage, wisdom, and endurance.
The Spirit of the Work
The elephant here is not obvious, not literal—it emerges from chaos, drips, splatters, and veils of color, just as wisdom emerges from struggle. It is the soul made visible:
Copper & earth tones root the painting in primal strength, evoking the body’s resilience.Splashes of white represent purification, the clearing of old wounds and toxic cycles.
Hints of blue and turquoise pulse with higher frequency, symbols of communication, self-expression, and the truth of the throat chakra.
